Frequently asked questions
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Once both apps are installed, your phone and watch talk over the platform's own pairing channel: Bluetooth or your local Wi-Fi. Nothing goes through the internet at any point. A document you sent this morning is still readable on a plane.
Where are my files stored?
On your phone and your watch, and nowhere else. Paperwrist has no backend and makes no network requests of its own. The privacy policy has the specifics.
Why no subscription?
A subscription makes sense when there is an ongoing cost to cover. Paperwrist has none: no servers, no accounts, no storage bill. So it is a single purchase, and it stays bought.
Does it read my whole file system?
No. Paperwrist only ever sees a file you hand it through the system document picker. It does not browse, index or scan anything, and it asks for no broad file-system permission.
